Popia

I want to write something of more substance but decided to put it off for future bloggings.

Meanwhile, since Raya is only a week away, I’ve been secretly making these tiny popias or spring rolls with shrimp floss. We used to roll it the conventional way but now there is an easier and less hassle method, tie it into a knot. How?

Observe.

Ingredients:

A bottle of Chilli Shrimp Paste

A packet of Spring Roll Pastry

Here’s how we do it.

Step one.

 Cut into small triangles.

Step two.

A tea spoon of the shrimp floss

Step three.

 Roll it.

Step four.

Wrap it around your finger, making way to tie it into a knot.

Step five.

Wala! Your mini popia is all set.

And before you know it (about an hour after that), here’s my fruit of labour.

 Ready to deep fry.

You can get about 400 mini popias (after you’ve cut it into small triangles).

Tip: Cover your popia pastry with damp clothe to avoid it from drying out. Also, choose those of the blue coloured packet.

All the best :)

i always give up halfway doing these mini popias. i’m a woman of no patience, unfortunately, which is why i prefer paying for the ingredients and getting someone to do it for me.

*baik saja sudah kawin, kalau inda nada laki2 beguna* hehehe.

r&al, Di & twelve: its easy and quick. you do not have to use an egg yolk to stick it together (the old method). good luck :)

ezah: choose the biggest size… cut it into have, cut the half piece into another half. so now there are four squares. cut the squares into triangles :)
